One of the major weekends for youth bowlers in the upper Midwest is Dec. 26-28, when Dale’s Weston Lanes in Weston will host a singles sweeper open to all bowlers on Friday, a Junior Bowlers Scholarship Tour tournament on Saturday, and the 2025 Weston Winter Classic team tournament on Sunday.

“The goal of this event is to bring a college-style tournament to the high school level, providing student-athletes with an experience that will give them a taste of college bowling,” Vater said. “The tournament will utilize a college tournament’s format, modified to fit into one day. Throughout the day, teams will compete in two different rounds of play, traditional games, and baker matchplay games. This event will provide a challenging lane condition typically seen at a college event.”

The tournament provides team and individual plaques, with All-Tournament Team members also getting a Brunswick bowling ball.
