In a major change of policy, USBC has allowed long-time lane pattern designer Nick Hoagland to go public in explaining how he decides the lane patterns for the U.S. Open. Hoagland joined the BowlTV booth with Mike Flanagan and Craig Elliott on Tuesday night for C squad of the 2026 U.S. Open at Royal Pin Woodland in Indianapolis and provided a nice mix of information and entertainment. And they provided a few minutes of a half-hour video about Hoagland’s process in choosing the U.S. Open...
