A clutch finish carried Adam Barta of Girard,Ohio, and retired PBA Tour champion Hugh Miller of Mercer Island, Wash., to the doubles lead early Friday morning at the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships in Baton Rouge,La. In the 10th frame of their third game, Barta said in a Facebook post that he struck out for 279 and a 718 series and Miller doubled for 233 and a 711. Barta's first two games were 235 and 204.
