Jimmy Zimmerman and Roger Blanchard of Syracuse, N.Y., vaulted into the doubles lead at the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships with 1,464 on Tuesday. Zimmerman blasted 781 (259-265-257), which I believe is the highest series so far in doubles, and Blanchard added 683 (235-210-238) as they soared past the 1,429 of Adam Barta and Hugh Miller.
