Marc McDowell had a “pretty solid” start in his first national PBA tournament in more than 15 years as lefty Mike Dias took the lead after Monday’s opening round in an atypically high scoring PBA Senior U.S. Open in Las Vegas. Dias, who has one PBA Senior Tour title, totaled 1,488 (248 average) on games of 214, 300, 237, 212, 257 and 268 for a 4-pin lead over Sammy Ventura, PBA reported.
