I’ve always been a skeptic on the use of polyester (usually called plastic) balls in practice to “set up” a lane pattern. Plastic balls drag oil down to the back end of a lane far more than resin balls, and can be used to create hold area. My fear always has been dragging it down to the wrong spots so that it interferes with proper ball motion at the back end.
