I’ve often been asked what I think of the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships moving to 4-player teams. Those who favor the move cite the hassle of finding a sixth player for the odd man for doubles, which usually involves pairing with a companion team. I’m not in favor of it primarily because it tosses aside a century of tournament history, and because our teams would have to cut bowlers.
