While United States bowlers have at times dominated international bowling and certainly claimed a healthy share of gold medals, the World Games have been an exception. Since the World Games began in 1981, the U.S. has won two silver medals and three bronze medals but never gold in the event, which is held every four years, the United States Bowling Congress reported.
