Many bowlers know of “shimwrecking” — a term I first heard from my buddy Mike Nape that refers to a bowler, usually a high-rev player, using a line to the left of another bowler and “ruining” that person’s reaction. What happens is that the bowler playing to the left dries up the oil inside of the other bowler’s line so that the other bowler’s ball starts hooking early, and then hooks more if they edge inside.
