Alvina Frye, matriarch of the family that owned Oregon Bowl from 1961 to 1995, died peacefully at her home on Sept. 15. She was 86. It is with some embarrassment that I pass on this news in that I totally missed this obituary printed in the Wisconsin State Journal and at Madison.com by the company I work for, and because I would have gone to pay my respects to my friends Bud and Cathy Frye.
