Rick Thomas defeated Chris Gibbons 214-174 in the title match to win the Madison Area Scratch Tour tournament at Leisure Lanes in Monroe on Sunday. Thomas earned $511 for his 12th career MAST title, while Gibbons won $281 for second. The tournament drew 55 bowlers for competition on a USBC Blue pattern, which proved challenging as the cut to the top 16 for match play took just 803 for four games.
