When you bowl a tournament like the United States Bowling Congress Masters, it’s not like bowling a traditional tournament where every pin matters the entire time. The only goal during qualifying is make the double-elimination match-play bracket, which is 64 players for the Masters (the defending champion and the other 63 top scorers).
