Watching the stepladder finals of the Mark Roth/Marshall Holman PBA Doubles Championship that aired on ESPN on Sunday was like watching a chess match. Players had to choose either the left lane or the right lane for the one-game Baker format matches, and of course they had to choose a lane play strategy, with Mark Roth pattern offering a variety of choices.
