The old World Team Challenge featured great competition, but it wasn’t like the pre-PBA beer team era. There certainly were no teams in the World Team Challenge to rival the star power of teams like the famed Budweisers of Don Carter, Dick Weber, etc. – the rules simply prevented it. And it has been hard to imagine there would ever be a team competition to rival the beer team era – if you allowed the top players of the PBA Tour to team up who else would show up to compete...
