There were some very predictable things about Tuesday’s first day of the 2015 Bowlmor AMF U.S. Open, but also at least one mild surprise. With a slightly softer 1.7-1 pattern and burn and double burn squads after years of a flat pattern and fresh oil for every squad, scores were expected to be higher and were: 24th after the first round was a 220 average, compared to averages of 215, 214, 215, 214, 217, 213 and 210 for 24th after the first round from 2007-13, when fields were mostly much...
