In what was an inconsequential display of great bowling, 3-time United States Bowling Congress Masters defending champion Jason Belmonte had the highest round of the tournament Thursday to lead qualifying at Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis. As defending champion, Belmonte already was guaranteed a spot in match play as the 64th seed, but earned the top seed with his 3,483 total for 15 games (232.2 average), closing with a 1,256 that featured a perfect game on the burn squad in the third round....
