As I wrote in this story, I didn&rsquo;t go to the PBA League TV tapings April 2-3 at Bayside Bowl in Portland, Maine, because it was a major tournament or because I expected to break any big news.
I went because I wanted to see in person the most raucous fans and experience the best atmosphere in bowling &mdash;&nbsp;one that in just a single weekend in 2015 became legendary.
And it exceeded my high expectations: I would say it is impossible to put into words what an incredible atmosphere...

Bayside has double shifts of league bowling most nights and long waits are common for open bowling when it’s available, which is why an 8-lane expansion is in the works. The clientele is young, hip and focused on fun and the center's high-end food, booze and craft beer.

Can Bayside Bowl and Portland, Maine, be a template for how to 'save' bowling and the PBA?
