As I move into my mid-50s, the one thing I know I cannot do is strike enough to keep up with the “kids” when the lanes are soft and scores high. And that’s not a complaint, as this is the natural order of things: There is no way someone of my age should expect to keep up with players of similar ability but half the age. But when the lanes are tough and shotmaking, sparemaking and having a few “tricks” in your bag are factors, I still sometimes can hold my own....
