Green Acres Boxer Rescue again is charity tie-in to 11thFrame.com Open

Note: This story first posted on July 26, 2016.

We are proud to announce that Green Acres Boxer Rescue will be the charity tie-in for the 11thFrame.com Open for the third straight year.

As many know, Green Acres is where my girlfriend Susie “Fever” Dyhr and I got our treasured boy Otis, who has enriched our lives beyond measure since we adopted him in November 2014.

In 2014, we used Booster.com to sell T-shirts to benefit Green Acres and raised nearly $700, as I detailed in this story.

In 2015, we teamed with 11thFrame.com Open sponsor High 5 Gear (now H5G) to sell T-shirts to benefit Green Acres and raised nearly $800, as I detailed in this story.

(Both totals count donations and the 2015 total has since grown and still is growing, as we have about 30 shirts still available for sale.)

Our intention was to team with H5G on the shirts again this year, but we ran into a snag when Susie became a volunteer for a Badger Honor Flight that her dad will be part of in October, with the mandatory training day being Saturday, Aug. 27 — qualifying day for the 11thFrame.com Open.

The Honor Flights are such an awesome thing that there was no way she wouldn’t help her dad participate.

However, that means she will not be in Dubuque that weekend running the shirt sales.

So we will use Booster again this year.

Susie did all the work designing the T-shirts and you don’t have to have any involvement with the tournament to buy one and benefit Green Acres.

The cherry red Gildan Ultra Cotton T-shirts cost $20 each and all proceeds above cost go to Green Acres.

It’s important to note that sales are open only through Aug. 9, which will enable the shirts to be made and shipped to buyers in time to be worn at the tournament. There must be 20 orders for the shirts to be printed.

More details are available at the page to order a shirt here.

Susie and I would greatly appreciate your support of GABR by buying a shirt or shirts, as we already have. You also can make a donation to GABR above the cost of the shirt.
