Unlike with the PBA Tour, being a rookie on the PBA50 Tour generally is an advantage simply due to the laws of physics: after 50, every year downgrades your physical abilities. It’s what makes men like Johnny Petraglia, who still fights for titles as he approaches 70, so amazing. Even a bowler like me who never finished higher than 7th on the PBA Tour was able to make the cut in every PBA50 Tour event I bowled in my first two years after turning 50 and made a couple of runs at winning....
