Led by Chris Barnes, the PBA Fall Swing got off to a relatively high-scoring start on the 32-foot Wolf lane pattern. Of course, that should change the next two days on the 40-foot Bear pattern and 52-foot Badger pattern. The 109-player field — Pete Weber withdrew  — bowled six games of qualifying in the Wolf Open on Monday, with the top 12 advancing to six more games on Monday at 6:30 p.m. Central time.
