Tom Hess earns 2018 U.S. Open spot by winning GIBA Iowa Open
Tom Hess had a disappointing World Series, but he made up for it when he got home to Iowa, winning a local tournament Saturday and then the Greater Iowa Bowling Association Iowa Open on Sunday at May City Bowl in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. That win earned the 2011 USBC Masters champion a spot in the 2018 U.S. Open in Wichita, Kansas, as it was an official qualifying tournament for the U.S. Open.
