Sun Prairie boys maintain lead, Marshall/Cambridge girls grab lead after Week 3 of Madison area high school bowling

The Sun Prairie boys maintained their lead and the Marshall/Cambridge girls grabbed the lead after Monday’s third week of Wisconsin District 4 High School Bowling at Village Lanes (boys varsity) and Dream Lanes (boys junior varsity and girls).

Eleven boys varsity, three boys junior varsity, and four girls teams are competing this year. For varsity only, there were 11 and five last season, and prior to that it was 11 and six, and 12 and six.  

The competition features nine games of Baker format each week.

For the boys, Sun Prairie has 27 points and Sun Prairie JV Red is second with 24, showing the strength of Prairie Lanes' junior program.

For the girls, Marshall/Cambridge has 17.5 points and Monona Grove is second with 16.

For boys, Sun Prairie had the high series and game with 2,020 and 277.

For girls, Marshall/Cambridge had the high series and game with 1,751 and 249.

Four boys tied for the lead in fill percentage at 100 percent: Andrew Olson, Collin Krachey and Michael Powell of Sun Prairie, and Riley Allen of Monona Grove.

Kaity Gjertson led the girls in fill percentage with 89 percent.
