Sun Prairie boys maintain lead, Monona Grove girls regain lead after Week 6 of Madison area high school bowling

The Sun Prairie boys maintained their lead and the Monona Grove girls regained the lead after Monday’s sixth week of Wisconsin District 4 High School Bowling at Sugar River Lanes in Belleville and Viking Lanes in Stoughton.

Eleven boys varsity, three boys junior varsity, and four girls teams are competing this year. For varsity only, there were 11 and five last season, and prior to that it was 11 and six, and 12 and six.  

The competition features nine games of Baker format each week.

For the boys, Sun Prairie has 54.5 points and Monona Grove is second with 41.5.

For the girls, Monona Grove has 33.5 and La Follette/McFarland/Memorial is second with 31.5.

For boys on Monday, Sun Prairie had the high series and games with 1,918 and 268 and 267.

For girls, Monona Grove had the high series and game with 1,520 and 224.

Collin Krachey of Sun Prairie led the boys in fill percentage with 100 percent.

Cila Freitas and Karis Rogers of La Follette/McFarland/Memorial tied for the girls lead in fill percentage at 94 percent.

For the season, Quinn Sheehy leads the boys at 95.14 percent and Allison Dempski of Marshall/Cambridge tops the girls with 88.78 percent.

The top five boys and top three girls in fill percentage, plus the singles tournament champions, qualify for the State Singles Tournament.
