Sun Prairie boys, La Follette/McFarland/Memorial girls maintain leads after Week 8 of Madison area high school bowling

The Sun Prairie boys and La Follette/McFarland/Memorial girls maintained their leads after Monday’s eighth week of Wisconsin District 4 High School Bowling at Dream Lanes and Schwoegler’s Entertainment Center.

Eleven boys varsity, three boys junior varsity, and four girls teams are competing this year. For varsity only, there were 11 and five last season, and prior to that it was 11 and six, and 12 and six.  

The competition features nine games of Baker format each week.

For the boys, Sun Prairie has 72.5 points and Monona Grove is second with 54.5.

For the girls, La Follette/McFarland/Memorial has 45.5 points and Monona Grove is second with 40.5.

For boys on Monday, Sun Prairie had the high series and game with 2,071 and 268.

For girls, La Follette/McFarland/Memorial had the high series and game with 1,626 and 214.

Tyler Haugen of Sun Prairie and Riley Allen of Monona Grove led the boys in fill percentage with 100 percent each.

Erica Lohr of Sun Prairie led the girls in fill percentage at 94 percent.

For the season, Quinn Sheehy of Sun Prairie leads the boys at 93.52 percent and Allison Dempski of Marshall/Cambridge tops the girls with 88.11 percent.

The top five boys and top three girls in fill percentage, plus the singles tournament champions, qualify for the State Singles Tournament.
