Storm Gravity Evolve

Putting the super strong Spec cover over the super strong Shape Lock HD core says one thing to me: conditional ball.

Give me a ton of oil, and I can use that combination, which is what the new Storm GRAVITY EVOLVE consists of.

I chose to order a drill the GRAVITY EVOLVE because of the huge success I have had with some balls with that cover and that core — why not try the combination.

I chose a drilling that has fallen out of my arsenal. Pins this weak once were a favorite of mine, including in a VIRTUAL GRAVITY that was my favorite for years, but that was a bit of rev rate ago. I thought I'd try one again. With my PAP of 4 7/8 over and 5/8 up, the numbers for this ball are 6 3/8 pin-PAP, 3 MB-PAP, and 5 5/8 pin buffer. It has no weight hole as I am trying balls without a weight hole under the new USBC option, then adding a weight hole later if needed to change reaction.

My GE is easy to describe: smooth and slow, which is what I expected with the combination of ball and drilling.

It’s a conditional ball that serves a purpose on heavy oil, especially wet-dry conditions where going straighter is valuable, but also flatter patterns with heavier oil where control is valuable.

With the weak pin, my GE is a not a ball I can get left and send right, but if I want to go fairly straight and ride an oil line, my GE delivers.

The asymmetrical Shape-Lock HD references high density, which translates to more flare potential. Combine that with the SPEC cover featured in the CRUX PRIME and you simply have a super strong ball that can handle any amount of oil.

Conversely, this is a ball to put away when there isn’t a decent amount of oil.

I would say the GE might have the most value for those looking for a strong ball that provides smooth motion, especially on flatter patterns. It also should be great for bowlers who are speed dominant.

If you are someone who doesn’t do well with strong balls, and/or who bowls in a center that hooks a lot, the GE likely isn’t a good hoice for you.

The motion of the GE reminds me of the ALPHA CRUX.
